How much does a chemical peel cost in Indianapolis?
Written by Jamie Gleason, MSN, FNP-BC · Owner, Üesthetics · Updated October 2026
"Chemical peel" covers everything from a 20-minute lunch-break glow to a week of visible peeling, so the price you see quoted around Indianapolis can be anywhere from $100 to $500. That is not one treatment with different markups. It is three or four different treatments, and the only way to compare prices is to know which one you are looking at.
We publish our pricing. Here is what we charge, what the rest of the city charges, and how to pick the right depth for your skin and your calendar.
What we charge
At Üesthetics, chemical peels run $150 to $400 depending on the peel.
AlphaRet Peel: $150, or a series of three for $375. This is our go-to light peel. It combines a retinoid with alpha hydroxy acids, so you get retinol-level cell turnover with almost no visible flaking. Most people book it over lunch and go back to work. The series works out to $125 per peel, and three peels spaced three to four weeks apart is what we recommend for tone, dullness, and mild texture.
Environ Cool Peel: $190. A low-irritation lactic acid peel that works without the heat and sting most people associate with peels. It is the one we reach for on sensitive or reactive skin, rosacea-prone skin, and anyone who wants resurfacing with essentially zero downtime.
Perfect Derma Peel: $350. Our medium-depth peel. It blends TCA, salicylic and retinoic acids with glutathione, and it is the one we use for melasma, stubborn hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and real texture change. Expect visible peeling for about five to seven days. One Perfect Derma Peel does more than any light peel, and most people see the biggest change after two or three spaced a month or two apart.
BioRePeel Gold for Body: $400. A TCA-based peel formulated for the body rather than the face. It is what we use for keratosis pilaris, body acne, and rough or discolored skin on the back, chest, arms, and legs. Minimal visible peeling, which is unusual for a body peel of this strength.
Every peel includes a skin assessment, the treatment itself (about 30 minutes in the chair), and post-peel care instructions. There is no consult fee, and if a peel is the wrong tool for what you are trying to fix, we will tell you and point you to the right one.
What the Indianapolis market charges
Here is roughly what each tier costs around the city:
- Light peels (glycolic, lactic, salicylic, retinoid-based): $100 to $200 per treatment. Little to no downtime. Usually sold in a series.
- Medium-depth peels (branded TCA blends like the Perfect Derma Peel, and TCA at lower strengths): $250 to $500 per treatment. Three to seven days of visible peeling.
- Deep peels (phenol, high-strength TCA): $1,000 and up, performed in a physician's office with significant recovery. Rarely the right answer, and not something we offer.
So when one practice quotes $125 and another quotes $450, ask what peel it is before you decide one is a deal. A light peel at $450 is overpriced. A medium peel at $125 probably is not a medium peel.
Light vs. medium: which one do you actually need?
This is the question that decides your price, so it is worth getting right.
Choose a light peel if your concerns are dullness, uneven tone, mild sun damage, congestion, fine lines, or you want to maintain results from a bigger treatment. Light peels work by repetition. One gives you a glow for a few weeks; a series of three changes how your skin looks and behaves.
Choose a medium peel if you are treating melasma or stubborn hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, rougher texture, or deeper sun damage, and you can give up five to seven days of visible peeling. One medium peel does more than one light peel, but most people still need two or three. For us that is the Perfect Derma Peel at $350.
A good rule: if you are not sure, start light. You can always step up at the next visit, and light peels are the ones that fit into real life.
Chemical peel downtime, honestly
This is the number one question we get, so here is the straight version.
Light peel (AlphaRet, Environ Cool Peel): You may be slightly pink for a few hours. Some people get light, dry flaking around day two or three; many get none at all. Makeup the next day. No one will know.
Medium peel (Perfect Derma Peel): Expect your skin to feel tight and look tan or darker for a day or two, then peel in sheets from roughly day three through day six or seven. It is not painful, but it is visible. Plan it for a week when you do not have a wedding or a headshot. By day seven or eight you look better than when you started.
Body peel (BioRePeel Gold): Mild redness the day of, then light flaking over the following week. Most people have no visible peeling at all.
Either way: no retinoids for a few days before and after, strict sunscreen for two weeks, and do not pick or pull at peeling skin. We send you home with written instructions and we are a text away if anything looks off.
What a peel appointment is actually like
You arrive with clean skin (or we cleanse it), we check in on your goals and anything that has changed since your last visit, and we prep the skin. The peel solution goes on in layers; you will feel warmth or a mild tingle that fades within minutes. Depending on the peel it is either neutralized in the room or left on to self-neutralize over the next several hours. You are in the chair about 30 minutes.
Results from a light peel show up in about a week as brighter, smoother skin and hold for four to eight weeks, which is why a series spaced three to four weeks apart builds on itself. Medium peel results are more dramatic and last longer, three to six months for pigment correction, with maintenance peels after that.
Body peels follow the same arc: redness the day of, smoother skin within a week or two, and a series of two or three for keratosis pilaris or body acne.
Who peels help, and who they do not
Peels earn their price for uneven tone, sun spots, melasma, acne and acne scarring, congestion, fine lines, and general dullness. They are also one of the best ways to help skincare actually absorb, which is why we often pair them with custom facials and dermaplaning.
They are the wrong tool for deep static wrinkles (that is neurotoxin or filler territory), significant laxity (a laser or energy device does more), and deep pitted scars (where microneedling or LaseMD is usually the better path). Medium and deeper peels also need extra care on darker skin tones because of the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; that does not mean no, it means the right peel and the right prep, which is exactly what the consult is for.
Peels are not for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, on isotretinoin within the past six months, with an active cold sore, or with open or sunburned skin. If that is you right now, we will say so rather than take your money.
Peels vs. microneedling vs. laser
People often come in asking for one of these and leave with a different one, so here is the short version.
- Chemical peel: best for tone, pigment, congestion, and surface texture. Cheapest, least downtime at the light end, works by repetition.
- Microneedling: best for scarring, pores, and texture that lives below the surface. $300 per session, series pricing here.
- LaseMD: best for sun damage, pigment, and texture when you want the biggest single-visit change and can take a few days of downtime.
For a lot of people the right plan is a peel series first and a bigger treatment later, or a peel in between laser sessions to keep the results going. We will map it out at your consult.
The Groupon math
You will find peels on Groupon for $49 to $79. What that usually buys: a very low-strength over-the-counter-grade acid, a short appointment, and a provider who is not going to assess your skin before putting acid on it. A peel that does nothing is not a bargain, and a peel done on the wrong skin without prep is how people end up with pigment problems they did not have before.
At $125 to $150 per light peel from a medical practice, you are paying for the assessment, the professional-strength product, and someone who knows when to say no.
What to ask at any consult
- Which peel are you recommending, and what is in it? (If they cannot name the acids and the strength, leave.)
- Is this a light or medium peel, and how many days of visible peeling should I expect?
- How many treatments will I need for my specific concern, and what is the series price?
- Who performs the peel, and what is their training?
- Do I need to prep my skin beforehand, and what is included in aftercare?
The bottom line
A chemical peel in Indianapolis should cost you $100 to $200 for a light peel and $250 to $500 for a medium one, and you should know which you are getting before you book. At Üesthetics, light peels are $150 to $190 (a series of three AlphaRet peels is $375), the Perfect Derma Peel is $350, the BioRePeel Gold body peel is $400, there is no consult fee, and you get a straight answer about whether a peel is the right tool at all.
